Mechanical Engineer Entry Level
Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.

Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Responsibilities for this PositionGeneral Dynamics Mission Systems has an opening for a Mechanical Engineer in Dedham, Mass.
Duties and Tasks:
Assists and performs design and development in such areas as mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, thermodynamic, or heat transfer for production, transmission, measurement, and use of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines and/or machinesConducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designsProvides design information for detailing packaging documentationReceives detailed instructions from immediate supervisorGenerally, works within an identified work groupCollaborates with project leaders and other professionals within the Engineering departmentBuilds stable working relationships internallyWorks on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectationsFollows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtainedTravel may be requiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts, principles, and theoriesGood ability to grasp and apply new information quicklyGood ability to handle ever increasing responsibility and assignments with growing complexityShows initiative on assignments, and professionally executes projects with little directionGood ability to be a team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitmentsAbility to be creative, innovative, and responsible, and able to master good decision-makingAbility to learn and apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issuesWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsGood written and verbal communications skillsGood ability to recognize and clearly report relevant informationProficient with CAD tools to create mechanical models and accompanying drawingsOur Commitment to You:
