TheSenior Risk Manager partners with Business Banking management to oversee andmanage all aspects of risk and assess, on an ongoing basis, the material risksassociated with its activities, determining if actions need to be taken tostrengthen risk management or reduce risk given performance against BusinessBanking's risk profile and tolerances.
Responsible for developing and maintaining an effective end to end riskmanagement program including control effectiveness measures for one or morecomplex segments of the business /capability groups and client and industryinfrastructure. Serves as a technical expert on multiple business processes orregulatory areas impacting the business.
Additionally the incumbent providesday to day support to the business unit(s) providing knowledge and expertise onthe appropriate implementation of Regulations, Rules and industry standardsthrough procedures, other guidelines, and industry best practices. Providesregulatory expertise and solutions on complex risk and compliance issues basedupon understanding of business unit's activities and products.
Advises on newproducts, initiatives and strategies from a risk and control perspective; guidethe business unit(s) through the various governance approvals related to newinitiatives; liaise with other risk areas and operations to ensure processesare designed with proper controls; and advocate on the business lines behalf toensure effective and timely incorporation of risk management into everydayoperations.
Acts as lead for exam forproduct / function under review. Participatesin all important interactions with the regulators and leads risk and productrelated initiatives to meet corporate, divisional and business line objectives. The Senior Risk Manager is responsible forthe development of a highly competent, diverse team, in an effort to achievehigh levels of performance and morale that can adequately support the needs ofa large and changing organization.

Qualifications

  • 7
    years experience experience gained from working in financial services industry
  • Experience in an organization that is under strong regulatory oversight and scrutiny
  • Experience delivering a value added risk management program
  • Experience working with the regulatory agencies of publicly traded firmsAdvanced knowledge of internal controls and risk self assessment
  • Knowledge of business processes and/or products and operations; regulatory requirements; and key processes, controls and exposure areas
  • Analytical thinking skills
  • Strong business writing skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Project management skills to support multiple complex assignments on behalf of various stakeholders
  • Influencing and conflict resolution skills
  • Coaching and developing staff on project basis
  • Proficient use of MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint and Visio


Education:

  • Bachelor Degree
  • MBA Preferred
  • Professional Certifications preferred Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager, Certified Fraud Examiner, Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Public Accountant
